Jackson Hole
Over 97.5% of all the land in the county is public with National parks, BLM, National Forests and other such designated areas. This is a most important factor in understanding the Jackson Hole real estate market.
The valley of Jackson Hole is 48 miles long with a width of 8-15 miles. The valley floor slopes from 6779-foot elevation in the north to about 6069 feet at the southern end. The Snake River, which originates in the high country of Yellowstone National Park, meanders through the valley and is fed by numerous streams and creeks.
Grand Teton National Park occupies most of the valley with a land area of 310,000 acres or 485 square miles. Its many magnificent peaks and glacial lakes are home to many species of wildlife and include the moose, elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, grizzly and black bear, bison, and trumpeter swan.
Jackson, the town, is the Teton County seat, can be found at the southern end of the valley of Jackson Hole and was founded in 1921, 30 years following Wyoming's statehood in 1890.
As of 2000 Teton County had a year round population of 18,251 with the town of Jackson 8,647. With the tourist seasons the number grows dramatically by 52,000 in the summer and 5,000 in the winter.
With Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, tourism is our most important industry. The town of Jackson is the gateway to these parks for many visitors. In 1999 alone Grand Teton National Park enjoyed a total of 4 million guests.
The Teton County School District provides education through 9 separate schools to approximately 2300 students K-12. Facilities range from small mountain schools to the middle school built in 1992 and the new High School campus completed in 2000.
Seasonal activities are available for every walk of life from downhill skiing and snowboarding at the Jackson Hole Ski Resort, Snow King Resort, and Grand Targhee Ski Resort, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and dog sledding in the winter to horseback riding, kayaking hiking, boating on Jackson Lake and the Palisades and ongoing opportunities for wildlife watching the rest of the year.
As well Jackson Hole is home to four world class golf courses, Teton Pines designed by Arnold Palmer, Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr., 3 Creeks Ranch designed by Rees Jones and also home to 3 blue ribbon fly fishing creeks and Teton Village Shooting Star Ranch with 18 " memorable holes' designed by Tom Fazio.
Jackson Hole is proud of its world class National Museum of Wildlife Art founded in 1987 nestled in a hillside overlooking the National Elk Refuge and the Gros Ventre Mountains. The 51,000 square foot facility includes permanent and ongoing traveling collections and exhibits as well as educational programs, concerts and wildlife movie series.
Jackson Hole truly offers something for everyone whether residing year round, part time or visting
In a tough real estate market, Diane was able to get our "hard-to-sell house" (in my opinion) sold. Her guidance was especially important in getting my husband and I on the same page.
Over the years, I've gotten to know a number of real estate brokers/sales associates in and around Wyoming and Diane is by far the most attentive and knowledgeable individual in the Jackson, Wyoming market. I highly recommend her to anyone in search of a residence or commercial facility in the area, she is the consummate professional.
My husband and I have used Diane on several occasions to buy and sell properties and each time has been a very smoothly run professional experience. Diane's warmth, expert listening skills and honesty make this rather emotional time a pleasant one. Each time we have put a property on the market Diane's advice on price and her attention to details has been precise and has resulted in a quick and smooth sale. I have thanked her many times for only having to show our house less than a week before we received a great offer. This last property of ours took one day!
Diane is a true professional that can be counted on to take care of you whether you are buying or selling a home. She is the very best with keeping in contact with her clients and will always be honest with you. We can wholeheartedly recommend as a REALTOR
